Delicious Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

These delicious Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies can be exceptionally hard to resist. But why should you resist?

Is it time to give yourself another treat? Why not produce a scrumptious batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies? The homely feel of a chocolate chip cookie with a hint of oatmeal can never go wrong. Before indulging in such mouth-watering treats, it is time to store up on all of the necessary ingredients. After all, homemade cookies do not pop up out of thin air!


  • Packed Brown Sugar (1 cup) [250 ml]
  • 1 Egg
  • All-Purpose Flour (1 cup) [250 ml]
  • Chocolate Chips (1-1/2 cups) [375 ml)
  • Salt (1/4 tsp.) [1 mL]
  • Baking soda (1/2 tsp.) [2 mL]
  • Baking Powder (1/2 tsp.) [2 mL]
  • Large-flake Rolled Oats (1-1/2 cups) [375 mL]
  • Vanilla (2 tsp.) [10 mL]
  • Softened Butter (2/3 cup) [150 mL]


Once the ingredients have been collected, it is time to head on your journey towards a fresh batch oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

Before beginning to mix ingredients, it is important to set aside rimless baking sheets. Cover them with parchment paper on which the cookies will eventually sit.

After preparing the baking sheets, it is time to move onto the production of these homely cookies.

Get your hands on a large bowl and begin by putting in the softened butter. Gently mix in the packed brown sugar with the butter. Once, these two ingredients are in the bowl, it is important to beat them into a 'fluffy' state. The fluffiness will become noticeable as you continue to beat the ingredients together.

In the same bowl, it is now time to crack open the egg and add it into the ongoing mix. This will be followed by 2 tsp. of vanilla. Just as before, continued to beat together the ingredients until they are equally well mixed together.

Grab a separate bowl and begin mixing in the other ingredients. Begin with the rolled oats and flour. Slowly, start adding in the baking powder, baking soda and salt. Gently whisk these ingredients together into a healthy mixed form. Once whisked, it is time to combine the contents of the two separated bowls.

Start stirring the contents of these bowls together. When they are visibly combined, start adding in the always important chocolate chips. These chocolate chips will have to be stirred in and mixed well along with the other ingredients.

Now it is time to begin shaping this mixture into actual cookies. Grab 1 tbsp. worth of mixture and start placing it on the pan. It is important to remember that these cookies will grow into proper form once baked. Therefore, keep two inches worth of distance between each heap of mixture. If this is not done, the cookies will become attached or start crumbling once baked.

Once the mixture has been evenly distributed on the pans, it is time to place the batch into your oven. In order to enjoy a crisp taste, place the pans in the top or bottom third of your oven. Set the temperature at 375°F (190°C) and let your cookies sit until golden (12 minutes or so). It is best to rotate among the pans as that lessens the risk of burning your cookies.

Remember to let your cookies cool down before storing them. This will ensure the taste is excellent when they are ready to be eaten.

As they cool, you are now ready to do the most important part of the process. Eat the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!
