Coming across a hot chocolate mix recipe is not hard because there are so many of them. However, not all of them are as good as we expect them to be.
A cup of hot chocolate is meant to keep us warm during the chilly days while at the same time helping us to enjoy the rich taste of cocoa. Here, is one of the most amazing hot chocolate mix recipes that we make whenever it is chilly.
There are several ways in which you can serve this wonderful drink. I usually serve the chocolate mix with candy cane or tiny marshmallows. Alternatively, you can have fudge brownies or chocolate chip cookies to go with the hot chocolate mix. I assure you, when the weather gets chilly, there is no such thing as too much chocolate.
There are also other additives and flavorings that you can add to the recipe to make it a little more fun. The other favorite toppings that I use apart from whipped cream and tiny marshmallows include caramel and chocolate chips. Chili and cinnamon are also great.
When you want to serve the hot chocolate mix, place 1/3 cup of mix in an 8 to 10 ounce mug.
Pour ¾ cup of boiling water on to the mix. Stir to make sure all the mix dissolves well. The result should be a smooth dark brown liquid.
In case you are diabetic, or for any other reason you need a low sugar diet, all you have to do is replace the chocolate with dark chocolate and substitute the sugar with half a cup of Splenda sugar substitute. In addition to that ½ a table spoon of salt will make the mix taste awesome.
This mixture should be kept in the airtight container in the freezer compartment of your fridge. It will stay fresh and taste great for as long as you want it to serve you.
Basically, you can choose to serve the hot chocolate mix in a variety of ways as long as it appeals to your taste. The hot chocolate mix recipe can also be used as a thoughtful welcome gift idea especially in the colder months. Enjoy!
