This Death by Chocolate recipe is definately worthy of its name!
If I ever the get the privilege of chosing how I will meet my demise, chocolate will definately be one of my top choices.
There is no shortage of advice from health conscious 'experts' telling us not to eat chocolate. With it's high content of sugar and fat, it is very likely that this Death by Chocolate recipe will quite literally contribute to an early death. I will not even try to argue against is. Cocoa might be full of healthy anti-oxidants, but that doesn't make chocolate health food.
But I still eat chocolate, I enjoy it immensely, and I refuse to apologize to anyone!
However, I am a bit annoyed by fast food chains like Mc Donald's trying to argue that unhealthy food "if enjoyed in moderation, can be part of a healthy diet".
It is not that this isn't true, nothing "enjoyed in moderation" will harm your health if your overall diet is healthy, but I find it annoying that anyone should have to defend eating something just because it isn't salad or other "health food".
Excess alcohol or illicit drugs will cause immediate harm to yourself and possibly harm those around you. Eating too much chocolate will at worst make you sick. Drugs and alcohol destroys lives, excess sugar and fat destroys waste lines. There's a difference.
We are lucky enough to be blessed with these wonderful things called taste buds. Food is meant to be enjoyed, and should be about more than just nutrition.
My lack of a six pack might be directly related to my enjoyment of chocolate, but as long as I am reasonsbly healthy I prefer to enjoy what I put in my mouth.
That is why I enjoy the name of this treat so much. It sums up tounge in cheek an attitude to chocolate and food in general that is so positive and life affirming, despite including the normally negative word 'death'.
So I hope you enjoy this Death by Chocolate recipe, and remember that allthough it is probably killing you slowly, you should do your best to enjoy the process!
This Death by Chocolate recipe is best if made the day before you plan to serve it.
