Ever heard of chocolate chip cheesecake?
Since chocolate chips were invented, it has made the baker's life a whole lot easier. In fact, from these little morsels, people have been creating a variety of things that come straight from the oven or have simply been set in the refrigerator. You can go a lot further than good old chocolate chip cookies. Now we have chunks of chocolate in brownies, we can mix them in with ice cream or use them to make a classic muffin or a cup cake. One of the things that I found to be a real delight is chocolate chip cheesecake.
Now, this fine treat can be made in a variety of ways. You can make little cakes in muffin tins. You can use your normal cheesecake recipe and then add in the chocolate chips or you can get fancy with a ganache. You can even use white chocolate with a swirl of raspberries on the top. One thing that you shouldn't do is to use your premixed all-American brand, which many people do. Of course, this is so convenient, but are you a creative chef, trying to learn about how to use ingredients in different ways or do you just want to make instant dessert? The choice is yours. I can tell you that you will definitely be able to taste the difference if you make this yourself.
Using good quality chocolate is also something that many people forget about. Don't go out and buy yourself a bag of those cheap chocolate chips. Rather buy yourself a bar of good quality chocolate. Cut your chocolate into different sized pieces, some big and some small to create some variation.
Like I said before, there is so much you can do to a cheesecake, with the use of these chips and this is just one of the things. Don't always think of a cheesecake as an actual cake. Go deeper than that.
