Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe

This basic chocolate cheesecake recipe can be varied a number of ways, but we'll start off with something simple.

Cheesecake is one of those things that are just irresistible. It is no wonder why really good cafes and coffee shops display this right under your nose. How could you resist the intense flavors that a good chocolate cheesecake recipe gives you?

We use a very basic recipe that works like a dream every time. We actually started this as a plain vanilla cheesecake, but you can develop it into whatever flavor you want and what better way to go than chocolate. You can either mix in some cocoa with the ingredients or you can add an irresistible layer of top quality chocolate, marbled on top. We guarantee you this is just out of this world. To make it extra special you can get creative with the piping bag. There are millions of things you can do with a piping bag to make your cake stand out and you don't have to be a qualified chef to do this. Just have fun and be inspired!

Start off with this simple recipe

Ingredients

  • 400g/14oz. cream cheese
  • 90g/3oz. icing sugar
  • 65ml/2 fl oz. cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 40g/1.5oz. flour
  • 100g/3.5oz. good quality chocolate

Directions

  1. Line the base with sweet pastry
  2. Sift the icing sugar and the flour
  3. Soften the cheese and mix it in
  4. Gradually add the eggs and cream
  5. Beat until everything is incorporated
  6. Blind bake pastry base
  7. In the mean time, melt the chocolate
  8. Pour the mixture into the pastry case and pour the chocolate on top. It looks great if you take a fork and swirl the mixture around, creating a marbled effect.
  9. Bake this at 160 degrees C/375 degrees F/gas mark 5 for 30 minutes.

Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies

Of course, if this recipe is a little too ordinary for you or you feel like being more creative, which is never a bad thing, then you can think of using your imagination a little. We think you may be satisfied with one or two chocolate cheesecake brownies. It's definitely something different to try out and the texture is just so light and creamy. They don't look half bad either. It's amazing what you can achieve if you just take the effort to make a couple of touches here and there. This is your creation, just like a piece of art - so go on, give it some love! These are a real treat so it's definitely worth trying them out.

Ingredients

  • 400g/14oz. cream cheese
  • 90g/3oz. icing sugar
  • 65ml/2 fl oz. cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 40g/1.5oz. flour
  • 100g/3.5oz. good quality chocolate

Directions

  1. Have a medium sized baking tin ready which should be greased beforehand.
  2. Melt the chocolate with the butter in a bowl.
  3. Beat the sugar, flour, almonds and three eggs together and add in the chocolate mixture.
  4. Beat the goats cheese separately until it is soft. Add in the sugar, the rest of the eggs and the vanilla.
  5. Place the chocolate mixture into the baking tin and spoon the goats cheese mixture on top. -Swirl it around with a spatula. Don't overwork it.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degree C /375 degrees F or Gas Mark 5 for about 30 minutes or until it is softly set in the middle.
  7. Leave it to cool in the tin and then cut into rectangles.
