Chewy Chocolate chip cookies have always been some of the most cherished types of cookies. Chocolate and cookies make a really great combination for an absolute all time recipe. I don't think one can ever have enough chocolate chip cookies.

Surely, it's pretty hard to resist the light, creamy buttery flavor of a homemade chocolate chip cookie with a luscious taste and texture of brownies in a cookie shape. The cookies are incorporated with butter and a blend of brown and white sugars, which makes an indulgent and chewy cookie. If you like having your cookies gooey and chewy, here's a delightful chocolate chip recipe for you.

This is an absolutely delicious recipe for your busy lifestyle - easy to prepare and yummy just the same. The cookies are soft and chewy, but with a lightly crispy shell. If you don't fancy the crunchiness, you may substitute the shortening with more butter.

Make a good choice of butter and vanilla for better cookies. Most vanilla extracts are mainly alcohol with a little flavoring so find one with low alcohol percentage. The butter should be softened and not melted.

I have also discovered that smaller non-sticky cookie sheets make for excellent cookies. It helps if you use the mixer on the dough separating the sticks of butter to be put into the oven. There should be enough circulation in the oven. For you to get the best chocolate cookies, I have found that you need to follow the procedure closely. The directions surely make a difference in the ultimate result.

Soft Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

Total time: 25 minutes

Serving: 6 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 package (12 ounce) partly sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup real butter, (at room temperature)
  • ½ cup flavored shortening
  • 1 ½ cups compactly packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Directions

  1. Put all-purpose flour, salt, baking soda in a small mixing bowl and sift them thoroughly.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix butter and ½ cup sugar with flavored shortening and whisk until creamy.
  3. Take remaining cup of brown sugar, add a spoon of vanilla and whip until perfectly blended.
  4. Add 2 beaten eggs, one at a time, and stir to combine.
  5. Add the heavy cream, and whip slowly to combine, and then whisk for good blending.
  6. Add semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir.
  7. Place small portions of butter, fairly apart, on the baking sheets.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375° F, spoon the ingredients into a non- greased cookie sheet and bake until cookies are brown on the edges and pale at the center, about 8 to 9 minutes.
  9. After heating, remove the chocolate chip cookies from the oven. Spread on a wide pan and let the cookies cool, about 5 minutes. Put them on a rack using a spatula.

The Chewy cookies are ready to serve. You may serve warm or cool.
